Music Breathes in Indian Youth

musicMusic is no stranger to Indians; in fact history tells us Indian music especially classical music enlivened Indian civilization for centuries with its different ragas assigned to specific time of the day or night.  Indian classical music just as Hinduism religion is not confined to the mindset of the composer but opens a vast array of ‘personalization’ of the music.

Article published at WebWire reveals a survey that music is particularly close to the hearts and minds of the young in India. Indian youth scored 83% the highest percentage in South Asia compared to Philippines (80%), Vietnam (77%), China (69%) and Indonesia (65%).

The pubs in India already play fusion to the music of East and West bringing in global ragas to the youth ears.   Recent stupendous double Oscar victory of A.R. Rahman only opens new doors and new ears for the music world.

Quoting Steve Garton, Executive Director – Media “The love affair between music and young consumers will remain inseparable….
